Friars P.50-51 Lines 1-30 Act 2 Scene 3
The sun is coming up, night is done, with it come's earths plants. The earth is where we all end up after we die, but from it also come's are life. Some of the best are the plant, a great thing we get from her. The wonderful thing can't be used for evil, but good is bad when misused and bad good when it acn be dignified. This small flower for instance is a cure and a poision, it can cause pain and joy to anyone, but in the end it will still die.
This solilquy is important because it point's out that in the end we will all die, returning to the earth which we originally came from and it's done by a Friar. This show that the Frair isn't the most virtues man because this is uncommon amoung holy men since it's diffrent from there belifes. it's important to see this as it shows that he isn't a normal Frair and it's to help the audience understand he's not like other's so that might be why he marrie's the 2 lovers.
I like it because it hold's one of my belife's about life. in the solilquy he say's "Virtue itself vice, being misapplied, And vice sometime's by action dignified" meaning what you do can be seen as good or bad depending on your reasons for doing so, and I have alway's belived the reason can out way the action dependind on the "Why".
Great job Emma!! I like the soliloquy you chose and good job on describing what it means. I also really like how you talked about how Frair Lawrence's quote means to you and how it's one of your beliefs!!:)
ReplyDeleteYou did a really good job. I think the way to talked about beliefs.
ReplyDeleteGood job on connecting to the soliloquy
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rebecca and Simrit. I like how you explained the importance of the soliloquy.
ReplyDeleteEmma ou have wonderful insights and work things through in your own head. Be careful when you are putting them into words on paper (or blog) to slow down, reread, and make you point clear and concise. This post has a few spelling errors and had me reviewing a few sentences to make sure I grasped your point. Part of getting your ideas out to others is making them accessible, and quality writing is just that. It feels to me like maybe a little "slow down" during writing is required... I can relate.
